CONGREGATIONAL CARE

Our Care Shepherd Ministry offers Christian love and care to those of our church family who are in need by arranging meals, visiting, writing notes and cards, making phone calls, or providing other services that may be needed. Our main objectives are to show love, concern, and support for our members who are hospitalized or in special care facilities; to address the needs of any member who is ill or injured; and to aid and comfort members in any other situations that may occur where special care is needed.

To request the care of the congregation or the pastoral staff, please contact Diana Mattison, Secretary/Receptionist (764-7176), dmattison@fpcbristol.org

Our Bereavement Ministry expresses the congregation’s loving care for the families of church members in times of grief. At the death of a member, the church office is in touch with a bereaved family to offer a meal, usually for the gathering of family and loved ones around the time of the funeral. Established teams of dedicated volunteers provide these meals to embody our care for the needs of those who grieve.

To volunteer to serve on a Bereavement Ministry team, please contact the church office (423-764-7176).

Care for Shut-in Members. Through the work of the Congregational Care Committee of our Deacons, the church seeks to maintain regular visits and ongoing care with our members who are homebound or who reside in care facilities. The pastoral staff seeks to offer communion to these members on a regular basis.

To request the care of the congregation or the pastoral staff, or to request communion for a shut-in member, please contact Jane Prater, Secretary/Receptionist (423-764-7176), jprater@fpcbristol.org.
