College Mission Trip to Zimbabwe

July 17 – August 4, 2018

Summer 2018 the FPC college ministry (18-25 years old) is joining with Love Africa Missions to do a discipleship training mission trip in Zimbabwe! Our team will be serving the Tonga fishing villages along the lakeshore between Zambia and Zimbabwe for two weeks. This may not be what you have in mind when you think “missions in Africa,” but it is that and way more. If you are willing, God will use your time on the boat to transform you in remarkable ways by revealing new parts of His character and showing you how much He cares for you. You will spend time studying God’s word with others and gain insight into spiritual matters. You will laugh and cry. You will learn to praise, worship, and speak truth like never before. You will share fellowship, interact, and pray with the beautiful Tonga people. In addition to all of the amazing relational ministry work, you will be spoiled with the beautiful scenery, amazing sunsets, and lots of wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalos, lots of birds, and many of other animals.
The cost of the trip is $3,500. Our team will raise support together and individually. It may seem like a huge amount, but If you are sensing God’s call to do this trip, part of him preparing us is the incredible faith growth that comes with trusting God to provide. God will provide everything we need. If you are interested in this amazing trip, contact Katie Arnold. A $100 non-refundable deposit will be due in January to reserve your spot.

High School students meet in same-age, same-gender groups for fellowship, sharing and devotion.  Small groups are a smaller setting aimed at building relationships and walking through life together.  Each small group has an adult leader who serves as a mentor and facilitates biblical direction and learning. If you would like to get plugged into a small group, contact Katie Arnold for more information.

Sunday School

Location: Student Ministry Wing
High School students meet to study scripture together and discuss its personal application.
Middle Schoolers participate in confirmation class.  Confirmation is a two year class that covers basic theology and application. The class prepares students to be confirmed at the end of their eighth grade year. Students who take the class have the choice to be confirmed and join the church.

College Ministry

The college Ministry is focused on walking with students who have graduated out of the high school ministry. As students go off to college, military, careers, etc., our hope is that as a church family we can stay connected with them.  We strive to love, encourage, pour into them and share Truth in a variety of ways. Because many students leave the area, we do not have weekly college age programming.  We also provide opportunities for students to do leadership training and internships.
Our activities include:
– Summer Bible Study
– Summer Mission Trip
– Holiday Gatherings
– Passion Conference in Atlanta
– Valentine’s Care Packages
– College Visits
– Meal & Coffee Dates
