The Sanctuary Choir of First Presbyterian Church is a faithful and dedicated group of adults (college age and up), providing music for 11:00 a.m. worship on a weekly basis as well as for additional services such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. In addition, the choir collaborates on an occasional basis with the King University Symphonic Choir to present a major choral work, usually as part of the church’s Arts Series. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:15–8:45 p.m., in the choir room. All are welcome!

This group of adults, college students, and youth provides music for 8:30 a.m. worship every Sunday. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

For youth in grades 7–12, this choir rehearses weekly, offering their gifts in worship on a monthly basis, including special services such as World Communion, Christmas Eve, and one of the Holy Week services. Rehearsals take place in the choir room on Sundays, 5:15–6:00 p.m., adjusted occasionally to accommodate the youth fellowship schedule.

Children in grades 2–6 meet weekly throughout the program year to rehearse anthems, play instruments and rhythm games, and learn how to offer their gifts as leaders in worship. As part of their leadership, this choir sings approximately once a month and participates in an annual Christmas pageant in December, which takes place in conjunction with the church’s Joy Gift Dinner. Rehearsals are in the children’s choir room on Wednesdays, 4:45–5:30 p.m.

Our younger singers, age 4–grade 1, learn how to make a joyful noise to God as they play rhythm games and other games teaching hand-eye coordination, and learn songs in praise of God to present for worship on an occasional basis, in addition to participating in the Christmas pageant. This group rehearses in the children’s choir room on Sunday mornings at 9:00, then goes to Sunday School at 9:40.

In addition to providing music for Sunday morning worship on an occasional basis, this ensemble also participates in special services such as Maundy Thursday or Good Friday. Weekly rehearsals are Mondays, 5:30–6:30 p.m., in the bell room.

This ensemble is for all youth in grades 5 –12. They rehearse on Wednesday afternoons, 4:45–5:30 p.m., in the bell room, and provide music at various worship services throughout the year.

A handbell/chime ensemble for grades 2–6, this is the preparatory ensemble for the Youth and Adult handbell ensembles. The children ring in worship when they have something prepared, and the more experienced ringers accompany children’s anthems that have bell parts. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 4:15–4:45 p.m., prior to Savior’s Singers Children’s Choir rehearsal.
