College Ministry

The road map for the College ministry shares a vision that hopes to see King University students transformed by the power of Jesus Christ and His Gospel, in partnership with First Presbyterian church, reaching the world for the glory of God.

This includes weekly gatherings for college aged students along with mission projects to cultivate discipleship, fellowship, worship through faith relationships together and with staff from King University and FPC.

Weekly Opportunities

  • Monday 9-70 am: Student led Bible Study at the King's Den on King Campus.

  • Wednesday Chapel: 9-70 am (Worship led service); includes weekly Tuesday evening rehearsal from 6-8pm.

  • Wednesday Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): 9pm at the Student Center (Cafeteria)

  • Sunday Evening Worship Night: 7 pm, alternating between First Presbyterian and King University location .

Special Semester Opportunities

  • Fall: Serve Bristol: cleaning Cumberland Park (Bristol, VA), providing “Blessing Bags” for homeless folks. 

  • Spring: Beseech24: a 24 hour prayer and worship gathering on  the Oval and Chapel 

  • Mission Potentials: 

    • KingReach Weekly Podcast - AC Adams Recording Room (124). 

    • Yearly international opportunities with King Faculty (Dr. Ong, Chase Arndt, Dr. Swam Sidi and others).

Student Internships

First Presbyterian Church is blessed to be able to offer college and graduate students unique opportunities for Internships that include “hands on” learning in several  ministry vocations including:  Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Worship and Music with world-class directors that may fulfill class-credit requirements.
